ps. Vid 2 –
Alright, it’s only one box of jumping at the moment. This is actually my entry for dbp, and I didn’t get anything done it seems. However I’m going to enter this program ready or not. it took me 2 months to get this framework up and running… well part of it was also going through some tutorials, and then of course just life in general.
I’m video-capping, my progress though.
So let’s start with vid #1 — keep in mind wireframe doesn’t compress well, and so you will have to maximize the video window to see anything.
Okay next up, I actually added some substance for vid #2
For vid 3, i actually added more platforms, a door, and basically building a level.
Well that’s it, neat eh?
Keith
ps. Here’s vid #4 now that i could upload it to youtube.
pps. Here is a link to vid 4 off my webspace, should be slightly better quality.
Wonder Boxes of Jumping Vid #4
Yeah yeah, i know it’s only for windows and xbox 360. I’m going to attempt to enter a demo in the Dream.Build.Play. contest. Right now I’m starting a game design document, that I hope to be done in a couple of days. Probably a one level demo with one or two ‘baddies’.
In the meantime, here’s the link to my game design doc as I make it.

changed from html to pdf.

Well attempted a run animation, started out okay, and then quickly turned into a mess. He doesn’t move too bad but a few frames the feet are too close together so they don’t exactly cleanly read as passing…
Keith
Okay this is cool. I got him walking and into a video. Getting him into a video and uploaded to youtube though, too me the better part of an hour. What a pain. I hope it’s not as bad next time.
Doesn’t do much but walk left and right, but it’s a start. So now I decide, start a running animation, or try to work on eye-aim with the mouse.
Here’s the vid:
edit:
Unfortunately the syndication didn’t take the embedded youtube video so here’s the link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpKvC40vnAs

P.S. Just to let you ld48 bloggers know, my blog is at http://old.gamesafoot.com — It’s just the same thing that’s syndicated only you can shower me with compliments er… comments.
I’ll need to do some cleanup but overall I like it.
Keith
Here it is, the one that’s the closest of all. Still got work to do but who knows maybe i’ll decide to start working on starting to implement something.
Keith
Well here’s number four, I think I like this one the best, not sure until I see it with the others. Tried to get more bounce in the eyes, and a smooth walk.
Keith
sorry if I fouled up that spanish anyhoo… #3
This one’s animation looks pretty good to me, although there’s still some work to be done, I might have a few more go’s at it. stay tuned
Keith
I’m actually quite pleased at the walk itself, it seems to bob correctly, and the eyes seem to follow through just a little bit later than the head. That being said, there are still problems with it. Firstly his legs are way too long. They whole body should be about 3 heads high (in this case 3 brains high). The brain itself needs to be less bulky, and be fairly uniform through out. I’m going to try again, and eventually will get to something I like.
Here’s the animation in a small 160×120 size, maybe closer to the way it will be in the game.

Edit : Here’s the second attempt, probably the last tonight - a little better
