Various items of interest

I haven’t been doing much, struggling with my lack of time management skills.  In any case i’m looking at the free Popcap Framework for making small completed games to increase my skill set, or at least to show myself i’ve accomplished something.  I’ll be starting with various small games and offering them probably for free through my website/blog.

As far as Enchanted Lands Progress goes, i’ve added 2 more hours of work to the 100 hour challenge, and i’ll be updating that soon.  I’ll also let you know what I came up with.

Thanks for reading.

Special thanks to GB Games for mentioning my irc chat channel #GameDevelopers on the Starchat network ( irc.starchat.net )

    Hi,
Hmm, coincidences: I followed the link to your blog from gbgames blog today AND I looked at the Popcap framework for the first time today.

Dont know about you, but from my evening of reading the docs/API, Popcap looks very good. The classes/docs/demos all seem good. I use Kyra at the moment, will need to decide if this warrants learning another API. I think it might, especially if it has features that help solve issues that I will hit sooner or later, especially the annoying last 10%, and ‘polish’ that some of the better Popcap games certainly have (even if you hate those puzzle games!).
Sounds like you’ve already decided to give it a shot?

Well i’m going to start learning it by making small games. Even though i’m a c programmer, i’m still just starting to learn c++, so it will take me a bit. But i’m definately going to try to give it a shot.
