Starcatcher -uhh- can’t think of anything funny.

That’s right, i’m sort of at a standstill.  It’s tough trying to make this thing fun.  It was more fun when there was only one type of star.  Now there is 3.  The larger it is the less points you get but more energy, the smaller it is, the more points but less energy.  And if you hit a shooting star in flight you get a big score bonus.  However, now it’s not as fun because you could just sit and wait for shooting stars.  Granted in the higher levels it gets a bit fast and you do have to move around.  But there’s no real reason for any of those other stars to be there, execept decoration.  Anyone out there want to give it a try and give me some pointers?

Here’s a pointer, come up with a fun idea for a game, and totally delete this game from your computer and website. I know I sound like a jerk, but you would agree if you were not the one making it. I have a really fun idea for a game, but I have only been taught how to program command line crap in school. So…I reading this old book I got a couple years ago about Game Programming. It seems great except for the fact that nothing makes sense. Programming graphics in Java is way easier and I can’t seem to get the hang of this. Maybe you could send me some of your source code from different games you’ve written. Thanks, Reese.

This game looks very retro, reminds me Titan Attacks, though it doesn’t match it’s quality.

Make timed levels so you’ll force player to move instead of waiting.

Thanks Roman for looking. I’ve planned to rewrite the thing. Right now it’s not in it’s fun state. When I added multiple star types it stopped being fun. So i’ve decided to rewrite the gameplay somewhat. Timed levels is a good idea though, I may implement them when I’ve rewrote the game.

Indeed the quality isn’t that great, but of course i’m not finished with it.  It will have that non-vector-retro look though when it’s done.  It will need a bit of polish.  I just figured i’d need screenshots so I added some graphics to give an “about” look.
